Roane State has more than 4,700 students pursuing two-year associate degrees or academic certificates.
Many of our students are attending class on a fulltime basis. But half of our students attend class on a part-time schedule. Many have fulltime jobs. Some have children. Some have elderly loved ones who require their care. At Roane State, we understand the needs of students like you and have academic programs that will meet your needs.
Our nine locations, online classes, and evening classes will help you fit college into your schedule. Our low cost and many financial aid options will help you afford college. Our staff will help you with applying for admission, registering for classes, and getting financial aid.
Our faculty will help you learn the skills you need to join a high-wage, high-skilled workforce or transfer to a university to obtain a bachelors degree. No matter what field you choose—perhaps dental hygiene, business management, nursing, opticianry, paralegal, radiologic technology—you will likely find a job. Our placement rate is over 90 percent.
If you desire a 4-year degree after obtaining your associates degree at Roane State, the average GPA of our students who transfer to a university is higher than the average for students who started at a 4-year school. Roane State faculty makes sure that you are better prepared to take the upper-level courses at the university.
Your time at Roane State will pass quickly. Soon, graduation day will arrive. The moment I hand you your degree is one of the highlights of our year, and will be one of the highlights of your life.
It would be our pleasure to help you get started. Contact our Admissions office by calling (865) 882-4554. You can find many additional resources right here on our website.
We look forward to welcoming you to Roane State.
