As part of Nuclear Science Week (October 21-25, 2024), the Oak Ridge Chamber of Commerce will host a Nuclear Career and Job Fair at Roane State's Oak Ridge Campus on Thursday, October 24.
The fair will be held inside the Goff Building from 4 p.m. until 7:30 p.m. ET, with a special welcome by City of Oak Ridge Mayor Warren Gooch scheduled for 6 p.m. ET.
The event is a collaboration between local employers, organizations, and educational institutions, and will allow attendees to explore job opportunities and various career paths in the nuclear industry.
Representatives from Roane State, UT Knoxville, Pellissippi State, TCAT Harriman, and TCAT Knoxville will be present with information on nuclear and related degree and certificate programs.
IBEW Local 270 will attend to share information on apprenticeship opportunities. TN Achieves will also be in attendance with information on funding available for students taking this curriculum.
Participating employers include Consolidated Nuclear Security (CNS), Oak Ridge National Lab, UCOR, Bechtel, Centrus, Omega Technical Services, TVA, Type One Energy, Kairos Power, Orano, RSI, and more.
