Aid to Distressed Families of Appalachian Counties (ADFAC) (Anderson County, Campbell, Morgan, and Roane County)

ADFAC can help families with basic needs such as utilities, rent, food and pantry items, referrals, and short term coaching. Home repairs, new home construction, and home ownership education is also available. Brand new school supplies and backpacks for PreK-12 students are also provided in 45 local schools throughout the area. Services vary by county.

Requirements for eligibility vary, but in general parents who meet the income requirement, have children six weeks to kindergarten, and who work, are enrolled in a post-secondary education program, or a combination of both for 30 hours or more per week may be eligble. Mid-East Community Action Agency realizes that individuals and families living in poverty may need more immediate support to get through a challenging period.
